When evaluating quiet whirlpool baths, first imagine you are relaxing on the bank of a gentle stream while enjoying the sound of water flowing calmly and serenely. How to Maintain Your New SANIJET Bath Tub – Whirlpool Tub Cleaning Tips

As a spa or salon owner, or someone working in the hospitality field, you need to know proper whirlpool tub cleaning techniques to ensure your clients enjoy a safe, sanitary experience.  If you are attempting to clean and disinfect a bath equipped with a Pipeless system, simply follow the instructions that follow. If, on the other hand, you are trying to clean a bath with a piped or air blower system, we urge caution. While manufacturers of these systems recommend flushing procedures or self-cleaning capabilities, there is no scientific evidence available that supports these claims. In your attempt to clean these systems you will notice that you cannot reach the hidden piping or channels to scrub away residue or simply inspect to verify that the system is, in fact, clean.

We offer the following quick, simple and independently-certified cleaning and disinfection procedure for your Pipeless SANIJET bath tub.

Prepare and Clean

First, drain the tub and remove each jet from its jet case by simply rotating them counter-clockwise.  Disassemble the jets into three pieces, place them in a sink, and scrub away any visible residue using a non-abrasive cleaner.  Rinse with tap water and set aside.

Returning to the tub using the same non-abrasive cleaner to clean the tub walls, jet cases, overflow mechanism, and drain stopper.  Quickly rinse the tub with tap water.

Disinfect

Cover all surfaces of the tub and EPA-registered disinfectant and allow it to remain in contact with the tub for the required amount of time for disinfection. (SANIJET’s recommended cleaner/disinfectant – Dispatch Hospital Cleaner/Disinfectant – has an industry-leading 60 second “contact time” meaning that bacteria and viruses will be eliminated in only 60 seconds).

Reassemble

Align the mounting tabs with the housing slots at the 11:00 position.  Then, insert the jet into the jet case in the tub and secure it at the 12:00 position.
